Membership

At Alpha Delta Fraternity we recognize that our high-achieving student members face a wide range of demands with academics, part-time jobs, extracurricular campus activities and personal commitments. Because we are a local fraternity independent of Washburn, we created a rent and membership program that is flexible and allows members to use their actions and achievements to create a low cost on-campus housing alternative at Washburn.

This program is called Alpha Delta Performance Plus and it was created by alumni to help our members reduce their rent and membership obligations. AD Performance Plus is simple. Members can lower their overall membership and living cost obligations by completing approved activities that support chapter house operations, strengthen academics, increase participation with Washburn associations, teams and clubs. We offer these options for those members who need additional methods to reduce their rent burden through their efforts, achievement and involvement.

Examples include:

  1. achieving at least a 2.8 GPA at Washburn or 3.0 in High School in order to apply for a MacVicar Educational Foundation Rent Scholarship· applying for one of three Alpha Delta alumni sponsored Internships

  2. Joining the AD Clean Team to maintain house operations· being selected to perform an essential chapter function· applying for and completing Washburn’s Greg Brenneman Fellow Series to obtain a $1,500 cash scholarship sponsored by Alpha Delta Alumnus Greg Brenneman.

  3. Obtaining referral bonuses for referring new members to the fraternity· receiving rent scholarship bonuses for special contributions such as participating or leading a Washburn University association, team and/or club.

  4. If you qualify for an exemption to Washburn’s freshman on-campus living requirement and live in Shawnee County, or commute from your parents' or legal guardians' homes, the AD Performance Plus program can still be beneficial to you as a “townee” member of the fraternity, which allows you to still receive all the social benefits of membership.
